Newest Pixar movie ‘Lightyear’ coming to Disney+ worldwide as early as August

The brand new Pixar movie Lightyear tells the story of Buzz Lightyear, who we all know from the Toy Story movies. We follow Buzz on an exciting mission in space, long before he had all kinds of adventures with Woody and the others. The film is directed by Angus MacLane, who also collaborated on the production of top films such as Finding Dory (2016), Up (2009) and Toy Story 3 (2010).

By the way, don’t count on Tim Allen’s familiar voice as Buzz Lightyear. He voiced the astronaut for the Toy Story films, but is not there now. Instead, you will hear the voice of Chris Evans (Captain America) again. He is flanked by Keke Palmer, Peter Sohn and Taika Waititi.

‘Lightyear’ is available on the streaming service from August 3, 2022

Pixar announced yesterday that Lightyear is coming to the streaming service Disney+ sooner than expected. In a new teaser they shared on their Twitter account, they let us know that the film will be available on the video on demand platform as early as Wednesday, August 3. That’s incredibly fast, given that the film will only be released in cinemas from June 15. Disney+ also offers the other Toy Story films, so a marathon is definitely a good option soon!
