Netflix officially renews Outer Banks for season 3

The Pogues are coming back! Good news for fans of Netflix‘s hit series Outer Banks, as the streaming service officially announced yesterday that its Original has been renewed for a third season.

Usually after a release, we have to wait a few weeks or sometimes months until we hear more about the renewal of a series. Now it has all taken a little longer, as the second part of the exciting hit series Outer Banks came to Netflix on July 30, 2021. Fortunately, as of yesterday, December 7, 2021, we can say with certainty that the series will come with a third season! Netflix let us know in tweets. A release date has not been announced so far.

How long will we have to wait for the new episodes?

Of course, the main question for many fans now is how long it will take until the third season of Outer Banks will actually be available on Netflix. Unfortunately, the streaming service has not made any statements about that yet, but of course we can share our expectation with you.

Normally it takes about a year from the official renewal to the actual release of a new season. Sometimes this can be much shorter or much longer, but usually it is ± 1 year. Furthermore, season 1 of Outer Banks came out in April 2020 and season 2 in July 2021. There was a gap of a little over a year between those as well. So there is a good chance that S3 will appear online at Netflix sometime around the end of 2022, but this has not yet been confirmed.
