Star Trek 4 officially announced by Paramount Pictures

Star Trek will return! This is news that fans of the popular reboot series have long been waiting for. The announcement of the new film Star Trek 4 was revealed during Paramount’s Investors Day Presentation by Star Trek – and Star Trek: Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams. It is expected that Matt Shakman, known for Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series WandaVision, will direct the film. It was also announced that the studio is at least in talks with Chris Pine to return as James T. Kirk.

Paramount is aiming for original cast for Star Trek 4

According to reports, Paramount Pictures hopes to reunite the cast of the first three parts, including Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story), Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy), Karl Urban (The Boys), John Cho (Cowboy Bepop) and Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz), as the crew members of the Starship Enterprise. However, nothing official has been confirmed about the cast as of yet. As soon as we know more, we’ll be sure announce it via our website and social media channels.

Reboot and alternate timeline, what’s the story there?

In the first film in J.J. Abrams’ reboot series, a story line was introduced that made it possible to reboot the original series with a brand new cast – without disturbing the original timeline. We can’t share too much about how this precisely works without spoiling the story, but it has brought a much needed breath of fresh air to the Star Trek universe – which has resulted in three exciting, action packed new movies.

Delayed production Star Trek 4 and Quentin Tarantino’s desire to direct

In 2017, reports emerged that Quentin Tarantino was interested in directing a Star Trek film. Paramount also showed interest in this and a film script was being worked on by the studio and Tarantino. Unfortunately, in 2019 it was reported that the collaboration between the two parties had ended unsuccessfully and in doing so, a future Star Trek film was shelved for the time being.

Stark Trek 4: story, release date and information

Sequel to Star Trek Beyond (2016). According to reports, production of Star Trek 4 will begin in late 2022. The preliminary release date of the film is scheduled for 2023. For now, all details surrounding the story and plot are being kept strictly secret.
