Netflix launches new film ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ on October 28, 2022
Netflix has already announced a number of new movies and series for October 2022, and All Quiet on the Western Front is also included in this list. Also coming online next month are Volume 3 of Unsolved Mysteries, season 2 of Barbarians, and season 1 of The Midnight Club.
All Quiet on the Western Front tells the gripping story of a young German soldier on the Western Front of World War I. Paul and his comrades experience first-hand how the initial euphoria of war turns into desperation and fear as they fight for their lives, and each other, in the trenches. The film from director Edward Berger is based on the world renowned bestseller of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque.
Many positive reviews
At the film review website Rotten Tomatoes and via social media, the first few reviews from critics are already coming in. For example, AQOTWF is described by Fionnuala Halligan of Screen International as “wrenching, visceral adaptation of a work that is almost a century old, written when ruined veterans could still hear the sound of the gunfire in their dreams.” Steven Weintraub of Collider also let it be known in a tweet that he is happy to finally be able to comment on the war film. He even calls it “easily one of the best films I’ve seen this year. Incredible cinematography, score, and direction with a fantastic cast.” That sounds promising.
Can finally talk about #AllQuietOnTheWesternFront. Easily one of the best films I’ve seen this year. Incredible cinematography, score, and direction with a fantastic cast. It’s Germany’s submission for the Academy Awards and you need to see this one on a movie screen if you can. https://t.co/5DBG6Q9GGh— Steven Weintraub (@colliderfrosty) September 13, 2022
