The brand new horror film, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) is available for viewing on Netflix – starting today. The film is a terrifying direct sequel to the original 1974 film, and already the ninth installment in the TCM series. Actor Mark Burnham takes on the role of the infamous Leatherface, and is directed by David Blue Garcia.
Direct sequel to ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ (1974)
The screenplay was written by Chris Thomas Devlin, with story by Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues. The lead roles in this horror feature, are provided by Sarah Yarkin, Elsie Fisher, Jacob Latimore, Moe Dunford and Nell Hudson.
The role of Sally Hardesty is played by actress Olwen Fouéré, Sally is the only victim who managed to escape from Leatherface’s horrific 1973 massacre. The actress Marilyn Burns played Sally in the original, but shall not be returning for the sequel. Netflix had already secured the rights to this film last summer, see the official announcement from August 2021 below.
The story of the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Melody (Sarah Yarkin), her teenage sister Lila (Elsie Fisher) and their friends Dante (Jacob Latimore) and Ruth (Nell Hudson) leave for the remote town of Harlow, Texas to start an idealistic new business venture. Their dream soon turns into a nightmare when they accidentally stumble upon Leatherface’s house, who has managed to keep himself hidden for some fifty years. But now that he has been disturbed – his blood lust is even greater than ever.
